Lighthouse Law provides legal support and services to some of South Africa’s largest banks. We have tailored our service methodology and created agile processes in this sector to meet the ever-changing and evolving needs of the banking sector.
Work we’ve done includes:
advising on major strategic transactions for the procurement of business critical services and technology;
leading negotiations in the managed legal service offering or in the major transactions which we have supported, and
enabling efficiency for in-house legal teams by creating a bespoke automated in-take process where matters are allocated directly from the business to legal, or alternatively straight to the Lighthouse Law team,
supporting the in-house legal teams with a managed legal service where we become an extension to their in-house team and work collaboratively with the in-house counsel,
redrafting our clients standard forms to comply with updates in law (including, POPIA, GDPR and the South African Reserve Bank Guidelines) and creating contracting playbooks which set out our clients negotiating positions and fall-backs providing training on new developments in the law or other areas where there’s a need;
and conducting and leading key strategic internal projects (eg. conducting a review of licence compliance across the entire contractual landscape).
